Seventies Music Charts No1s of 1975 (US) JULY

Here are all the No1 records from the year 1975 from the US charts of that year. It really is a who's who of 70s music, and turn it up really loud and enjoy. We continue with July of that year.

Listen To What The Man Said by Paul McCartney And Wings

The Hustle by Van Mcoy and The Soul City Symphony

This was like an early line dance disco re3cord that swept the world, and is by some thought to be the first real big disco chart hit of the 70s music. Van died in 1979 at only 35, and he  was totally responsible for this hit, and he was a producer in the past to Gladys Knight, Stylistics and he also wrote "When You Are Young And In Love".

Van even won a Grammy for this record, and it really still stands the test of time now.

Lyrics to "The Hustle"

One of the best groups of all time, and one of their best tracks too. The group was pulled together in 1971 with Glenn Fry,Randy Meisner, Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, they have won six grammys and sold millions upon millions of records, and the album of the same name just added to the sale of 1975.

After this album Leadon would leave to be replaced by Joe Walsh
This song was written by Fry and Henley, and is about the bands ability to keep putting things off.

About Me

My photo
I am one of those baby boomer's, who had the pleasure, and the FUN to grow up in the 1970s. The 70s music was so diverse, and the charts were for everyone from 8 to 80. That was when POP was fun, and the top forty really meant something as it was a shared experience. I have tried in this site to bring back the memories of the 70s, not just the pure pop, but also the heavy guys like Floyd and Black Sabbath. Everything had a place in the music of the 70s, and everything has a memory for one of us 1970s boomers.
